Questions about Billy’s Acquisition? 

Billy was acquired on January 31st, 2019. 

Unfortunately the license agreement prohibits us from acquiring and servicing customers outside of the U.S. and Canada and is outside of the control of the purchasing company. We will do all that we can to make the transition for users as smooth as possible. We understand that for the next few days our customer service responses will take longer than usual as we get through the backlog. We will work hard to make sure they are are all answered as quickly as possible. It is small consolation but we do thank all those outside of the U.S. and Canada that have used and enjoyed Billy even through the bugs.

As a note to our U.S. and Canadian users, we are excited that going forward we will have many more resources to provide you with the absolute best accounting software for small businesses. While it will not happen overnight, the features and stability that many of you have asked for in the past will be able to happen. Among those are stable bank feeds, cash based accounting, and many others. We look forward to working with you for a very long time.

Again, we apologize to all the users we are losing and know that this apology may ring hollow but we will do everything we can within our limits to provide a smooth transition.

When will my account be terminated?

International organizations, outside of the US and Canada, will be terminated on April 2, 2019. So please migrate your data before that date. No data recovery will be available after then.

How is ZipBooks different from what I have now?

ZipBooks actually has MORE features than Billy, including auto-categorization and project costing. And of course they have bank feeds and CC payment options for invoices. You can see all of their great features HERE.

Will I be able to export my data after the acquisition?

Yes. But you have until April 2, 2019 to do so. After that, your data will not be available for export.

Can I get a refund?

If you purchased a lifetime deal to Billy Inc., we are unable to offer you a refund. Businesses change, and one of the risks associated with buying a lifetime deal is that software companies may close down or be acquired. Your Billy purchase was for a user license and with new ownership, the terms of that license have changed and are unable to support international organizations. How do I get my data out of Billy?
  1. Login to Billy and click on Accounting > Export data
  2. Scroll all the way down to All transactions backed up
  3. Download all your data, including scanned invoices
