As an Appsumo buyer, this was a great read. I haven’t moved everything over from Freshbooks yet (I’m quite daunted by the task), but I have looked around and I am excited to get to the point where I am using Billy exclusively.

A quick note: The addition of projects would be awesome for me (and probably anyone else moving from Freshbooks)

To clarify my point, of the 10,000 free “users” only 400 actually used Billy. So that means 400 people, not a large enough number to be valuable in the way you mean in regards to Buffer. We seldom received any feedback from them, and the engagement in emails or surveys was quite low. Also, the complexity of Buffer as compared with Billy is very low. Buffer requires 30 seconds to set it up. An accounting platform requires quite a bit of commitment to get going. When you have a product that requires time and that could mean a big tax bill at the end of the year if you get it wrong, I don’t think ‘Free’ sends the right message.
